Week 3 | 2017

Happy Friday!

Each week a group of amazingly talented photographers from Facebook Group challenges each other to take on an assignment or weekly theme. I have joined two years ago. My first year was strong, but my second year was hard due to fostering of few really difficult and time consuming behavior issues dogs. This weekly challenge is a great way to network, get to know each other, and just try new things in general. I love being creative and I will do my best to wow you!

This week's theme is: Negative Space

Negative space in photography is the space surrounding your subject. This is a bit abstract way to put it, but really my subject is considered the positive space, everything around it should be simple. This was fun project. I have not left much time to work on it, honestly, I have missed few good sunsets for it. Since Gemma (my foster) left, I had a hard time picking up the camera. I feel like I need a time to let go...

As a dog trainer, I love training my foster pups and my own pups. They are so eager to learn even at their old age they want to learn. So, I worked on few cool tricks with all of them including Honey Bear. Honey Bear loves to do so much with me, but her favorite think to do is to be by my side and kick back. Here is my take on negative space with Honey Bear. I just love this photo, because Honey Bear was wagging her tail in anticipation of a reward, so timing was the key. I love the natural light kissing her left cheek and the relaxed atmosphere. This place was limited on space, otherwise I would suggest you try this with a wide angle lens to gain more netative space.

As we practiced our new pose for a treat other pups came to join. I seem be have everyone almost ready with the "sit pretty" pose for next time! Sarik is Honey Bears best friend and they often relax together and watch the world go by. They did so for my photo. Pretty much natural pose, so I didn't have to manage them into anything. I love how crazy those two are about each other!!! The strong mid day light was just perfect for this shot. The closeness is obvious...

It didn't take long for my little boy to cuddle up to his girl and fall asleep. Waaaaaah!

Using a wide angle lens would be a better choice, but my house isn't that big so there would be too many distractions. This huge window did amazing job for my photos! I absolutely love those! I truly hope you enjoyed my work and how I see the world from behind the camera. I hope you can make it next week to the next theme! Get inspired, don't place limitations on what you love and what you are passionate about!

Remember, this is a circle of photographers and we try to get others participating. Please scroll down on each blog and visit the next photographer. I hope you enjoy the talent and diversity in our group.  Up next visit Cahlean with About A Dog Photography in St. Cloud MN.

Have fun! Thank you for stopping by!
