Each week a group of wonderful photographers from Beautiful Beasties Network challenges each other to take on an assignment. This is a great way to network, get to know each other, and just try new things in general.
This weeks theme is dramatic light. I have been lately interested into low light situations. Experimenting with light is always a fun. For studio photographers natural light can be a nightmare. I specialize and try to master natural light from sunrise to sunset. I love how fast light can change within 5 minutes. You may have a great light but that can quickly change and your camera has to be adjusted accordingly.
For this photo I have chosen indoors on a sunny mid day. I have closed the blinds and let just a streak of light in. I have a thing for sun flares, they look interesting. I enjoy black and white images, especially indoors. I believe they make photos look timeless and interesting. This is my own mixture of B&W+matte+vintage.
On this photo, I took my pups for a quick trip to find a sunset. I am going to attempt this again, because this may look better as a silhouette photo.
To make things a bit more dramatic. Today with the limited sun, I have taken this. Darkened the photo a bit more to add drama and kept natural backlight. Very interesting.... I wish to have a better skyline but, all I had available to me was a sidewalk.
Last photo is right before the sun went down. This photo is for all my photo friends out there in a cold. This is Florida Spring photo, but for me it was just another Thursday :) Happy Spring everyone!!!
I hope you had fun and enjoyed my weekly project, maybe want to come visit Florida :) Head over to view translation of our project to Shelley Castle Photography, Washington, DC. This is a circle and we always have lots of photographers participating. Please scroll down on each blog and visit the next photographer.
